WELCOME TO MATUA PLUNKET KINDERGARTEN

MISSION STATEMENT

To develop creative imagination, critical thinking, self-confidence and a sense of delight, wonder and reverence for nature and humanity.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that a childs play is their work.

The centre programme provides an environment that

  • Builds on children's strengths and interests through purposeful play.
  • Respects a child's right to be a child, where their contribution is valued.
  • Is friendly and joyful, stimulating children's creativity and confidence.
  • Where the virtues project enhances children's self esteem through respect for each other, ourselves and our environment.
  • Where families are welcomed in a friendly supported manner and work in partnership with staff in the care and education of their children.
  • Is committed to Te Whaariki, the early childhood curriculum

We acknowledge the treaty of waitangi and the bicultural heritage of Aotearoa, New Zealand
We aim to create a warm, inviting, stimulating environment and believe that the basis of such a place begins with staff who are qualified, dedicated and competent.
